    I buy the new jam at the Night Owl on the way home, and even on the shelves jam doesn't look the same now. I want to tell the guy behind the counter about our jam. That we finished our last jar this morning, used it up, put it on thick on our croissants and finished it off. And that's why I'm here. No-one fucked our jam. Especially me. (p. 199)

I go with Jen to the Underground.
    I drink, I dance, I drink.
    I think, I watch the room move, the well-dressed people. I bug Jen when she's talking to boys. I talk to her and they listen too. Remorse hits me like a fist.
