I've just found my new locker when Chris Burns comes up to me. Slouches up with his oversized bag and the last of a mismanaged tan peeling from his nose, his sun-bleached hair not yet sorted out, not yet really back from the beach. And he looks in every way like the summer I didn't have this year.
Banger, he says, and I know I'm back at school. It's a version of Bancroft that no-one in Geneva used. How was the trip?
