The film-makers have brought a cinematic charm and vitality to a novel already appreciated as a very special story of growing up and confronting true life experience”. The House of NamesThe short film The House of Names (based on the short story The Goatflap Brothers and the House of Names from Headgames) screened as part of the 2003 Melbourne International Film Festival. The House of Names was written and directed by Charlotte George, and stars Samuel Johnson as Cleveland and Kim Gyngell as Eleanor. "Most people can't stop themselves beating the hell out of something when they adapt it, but Cleveland and Eleanor have come through the process with their charm intact.
